A woman is furious with her sister for copying a heartwarming tattoo tribute she got in honour of their dad who passed away some years ago.

The dad had written the woman a note months before he died after the two had an argument about him treating the other daughter as a favourite. She used words written on this note for the tattoo tribute.

Taking to Reddit, the upset daughter added that this note was all that she had left to remember her father so she was devastated when she noticed her sister had used the same note as a base for her tribute as well.

In the post, the woman, who remained anonymous, wrote: "Our dad passed when we were young (middle school ages) and he always liked her more so she has lots of memories and gifts from him.

"All I have is a necklace which she took from me before I went to university and I thought I'd just lost it and a note from him. My dad wrote the note for me after a fight we had a few month before he died where I confronted him about liking her more and not liking me."

She added that her tattoo tribute included words from this note which her sister loved and inspired her to get one as well.

"My sister wanted to get a tattoo in my dad's handwriting saying "I love you," I asked what note she wanted to use and she said he had sent her a postcard and even sent me a picture of the postcard she was going to use," explained the author.

"Two weeks later she has the tattoo and it looks really similar to the way he wrote it in my note (even accidental pen smudges are the same).

"I asked her if she used my note and she said yes and said that she couldn't find her postcard so she just used a picture she had of mine. I pointed out that she could've used the picture she sent me of it and she laughed and said she didn't think of that."

She yelled at her sister on the phone about this and said she was selfish but the mum has sided with the sister saying she should be allowed to grieve in the same way.

In response, many have sided with the woman and said the sister has acted unreasonably.

One person wrote: "She was in the wrong, and you're under no obligation to forgive her until she's able to at least acknowledge that what she did hurt you."

While another stated: "It's a little messed up, I can see it feeling like she's even taking your father's note away from you."
