First Dates favourite Merlin Griffiths has revealed to fans he’s got an “all clear” result from his one-year scan, after receiving treatment for bowel cancer.

Merlin, who has been on the hit Channel 4 dating show First Dates for over 10 years, was diagnosed with diagnosed with stage three bowel cancer in 2021.

The reality star has been keeping his followers updated with his progress and never shied away from revealing the hard truths of dealing with cancer.

And thankfully, earlier this year after undergoing 18 months of intensive treatments and surgeries, fans were relieved to learn that the reality star was beating the cancer.

Following his one year scan, Merlin has shared the wonderful news with his followers that he's had an "all-clear" result.

Taking to Instagram, the barman shared an email that he received about a CT scan.

It read: "Hi Merlin, hope you are well. Your CT scan has just come through. All looks good, there are no signs of reoccurrence. Hope this is reassuring."

He captioned the image: "Final Year 1 scan results are in, and it’s ALL CLEAR for now. Nice. Thank you # NHS #bowelcancerawareness."

Many of his fans rushed to offer their congratulations underneath.

One person wrote: "Amazing!!"

"Amazing news mate, my wife has just started chemo for ovarian cancer and you sir are such an inspiration," added another grateful follower.

While someone else penned: "So great to hear that Merlin."

The reality star has always been open with his fans about his treatment, often sharing photos from hospital.

During one visit he shared a series of images - with two snaps showing him wearing a hospital gown.

One slide showed a procedure update report which contained fantastic news: “No cancer seen.”

He wrote alongside the images: “Scroll across... 1 year colonoscopy check up for #bowelcancer.”

Sharing some intimate details of his treatment and health battle, he wrote: “Prep was soo difficult this time. Soiled the bed several times overnight, resorted to adult nappies, got about 2 hours kip. Felt like hell.

“First one with my newly connected a**e too (sans rectum), so I was a little nervous.”

He then triumphantly wrote: “But along with my last blood tests (clear), at one year examination, we're clear! Phew.”

He continued: “Next one at 3 years (2025). Last one at 5 years (2027). #bowelcancerawarenessmonth.”

And he added: “Love to all you fellow bowel cancer peeps, keep on keeping on!”
