A public proposal is some people's idea of a nightmare, while others think it's the most romantic way to show your love for someone else.
One man thought he had organised the ultimate romantic proposal when he went down on one knee in front of his girlfriend in a fast food restaurant on Valentine's Day.
The hopeful suitor had treated his girlfriend to chicken and chips at Mambo's Chicken in Harare, Zimbabwe, before popping the question.
Unfortunately, after the boyfriend pulled out an engagement ring the woman turned down his proposal in front of a crowd of onlookers.
It even appeared he had hired a video crew to record the big moment, so the humiliating ordeal was captured on tape.

The woman rejected his proposal (CEN)In the video, which has now gone viral, cheering staff and diners can be seen egging the woman on as she stands up and starts waving her hands in horror.
In a dramatic turn of events, the woman tried to leave the restaurant, but the boyfriend could be seen throwing himself on the floor and grabbing at her ankles.
The furious woman could then be seen wrenching herself free and pelts him with a giant teddy he had given her as a romantic gesture, before leaving the restaurant.
In another piece of footage, the girl can be seen running down the street, with one of the onlookers following her.
She can be seen confronting the girl and asking her: "How can you do that to someone?"

The video has sparked mixed reactions online, with some social media users condemning the woman for humiliating her boyfriend in public.
Some people said that she should have accepted his proposal in the restaurant before rejecting him in private.
Others said the man shouldn't have proposed to his girlfriend in public unless they knew that's what she wanted.
