Presenter Laura Woods has jokingly compared herself to Sam Allardyce after an awkward moment while leading ITV's coverage of the FA Cup final.

During ITV's broadcast of the match, there was a moment where Woods could be seen with her arms folded looking towards the sky. And after the game, Woods took to social media to poke fun at herself.

On her Instagram story, the presenter shared a still of the moment and compared her pose to the one Allardyce struck in a now infamous graphic used by Sky Sports during his time as Sunderland manager.

The image, which also shows Allardyce with his arms crossed and looking upwards, has since become a meme regularly used by football fans. And Woods joked on her story: "Why does this keep happening..."

Allardyce returned to management last month with Leeds United following the sacking of Javi Gracia. However, the 68-year-old failed to prevent them from getting relegated as Leeds only picked up one point from his four games in charge.

And Allardyce has now left the club by mutual consent after spending just 30 days as manager. "It has been an honour to manage Leeds United, a great club with an incredible fan base, who deserve to be in the Premier League," he said.

"I have really enjoyed working with the staff and players at the club and I would like to thank Angus Kinnear for the opportunity. I'd also like to highlight the outstanding work of [assistants] Karl Robinson and Robbie Keane who have worked tirelessly over the past few weeks.

"At this stage in my career I am not sure taking on this challenge, which is potentially a long-term project, is something I could commit to, but I wish the club every success for the future and hope the club returns to the Premier League, where they belong."

Leeds are planning to announce their new manager in the coming weeks, with former Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers and Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard among those said to be in the frame for the role.
