The suspect in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann compared himself to a terrorist Taliban fighter in a vile cartoon he drew in jail, it is claimed.
Convicted sex offender Christian Brueckner was first identified as a suspect in 2022 when it emerged he had been driving around the Praia da Luz resort at the time the British girl, who was days away from celebrating her birthday, went missing.
The 45-year-old allegedly told a former friend, who then reported him to the police, that Madeleine "didn't scream" after the girl disappeared in the Algarve, Portugal.
He has denied the allegation.
Last month, some letters allegedly written by Brueckner in prison emerged, showing his desperate attempts to exonerate himself from the case.

And today, a new drawing, believed to belong to the German rapist, has also been revealed.

The British girl was nearly four when she disappeared in Portugal (PA)The cartoon, first published by The Sun, shows a Taliban fighter saying "Wer stiehlt uns die Show?!", which, translated from German, means "Who steals the show from us?".
The newspaper reports that Brueckner has been in touch with German journalist Jutta Rabe, who is working on a documentary for TV channel SAT1 named 'The Case of Madeleine McCann: New Leads'.
Talking about the cartoon and its meaning, the suspect told Ms Rabe: "Does really nobody see what is happening here? "Yes, I want to provoke the prosecution."
Search teams looking for clues to the disappearance of Madeleine (Phil Harris)The journalist said that in all the eight letters Brueckner sent her, he made references to falsified evidence, wrong accusations and convictions, and generally continued to criticise the German legal system.
Last week, police carried out a search in a Portuguese reservoir after German prosecutors received "credible" evidence to lead them there.
It was then revealed that a village where Brueckner lived could hold vital clues that may help investigators solve the mystery of Madeleine's disappearance.

Brueckner lived in a run-down secluded home in the village and one source said: "Christian B spent a lot of time there after Maddie vanished.
"It was his favourite hangout and cops believe images of the area are among many of Christian B's pictures they currently have in their possession."

Investigators spent three days searching the surrounding area of the Arade dam and reservoir, about 30 miles from Praia da Luz and uncovered a "number of items" that could be linked to the case.

Little Madeleine went missing from a holiday apartment in Praia da Luz on May 3, 2007, while her parents dined at a tapas restaurant with friends nearby.
British police had always investigated her disappearance as a missing person case, as her parents maintained hopes of one day finding her alive.
However, in 2020 authorities in Germany said they were treating the case as a suspected murder.
