Tom Brady has addressed rumours about a potential playing comeback to the NFL, as the former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers star prepares for a new role with the Las Vegas Raiders.
As a result, Brady is set to become an investor in the Vegas-based franchise after his application to the NFL was accepted late last month. The 45-year-old announced his retirement from the sport for a second time in February of this year.
Despite hanging up his boots, many called on the the seven-time world champion to once again make a u-turn on his decision and compete in the 2023 campaign.
It was expected that as soon as his investment into the Raiders was confirmed that Brady would be ineligible to compete. Deep into the NFL rulebook though it reveals that investors are eligible to take on a 'dual role', if signed off by the other 31 franchise owners.
Of course the chances of this were seemingly slim to none, with fellow owners of course unlikely to agree to such a deal due to it strengthening one of their rivals. But now Brady has once and for all put the discussion to bed after confirming his playing days are over.

He told Sports Illustrated: "I am certain I am not playing again. I have tried to make that clear and I hate to profess that, because I have already told people that lots of times."
Instead Brady is now looking forward to his new TV job with Fox Sports, and his role with the Raiders.

"I am looking forward to the opportunity I have with the Raiders and we are in the process of that. Along with the other different things I'm apart of professionally and in my personal life.
"Just spending as much time as I can with my kids and seeing them grow up, and support the different things they have going on. That is a very important job and I take them all pretty seriously." Brady announced himself as arguably the greatest American footballer of all time during his 22-year NFL career, winning five Super Bowl MVP's in the process.
