The rising cost of mobile phone plans in the UK has urged many users to look into SIM-only deals, where shoppers pay a set price to use a specific amount of data. The consumer team at Money Saving Experts has shared their cheapest 100GB SIM, and after looking and the hidden benefits we couldn't agree more.
The 100GB SIM-only plan from ID Mobile is reduced to £12 a month and also includes Unlimited texts, calls and free EU roaming in around 50 countries. It's £15 cheaper a month than Vodafone's £27 a month deal, which would cost customers £324 a year compared to iD Mobile's £144 price.
EE also offers a similar 125GB data deal, branded as one of its 'lowest SIMS' but customers here would be paying £22 a month and tied into a 24-month long plan. This works out to £264 a year or £528 for the full contract length.
SIM-only plans are a favourite for many tech users thanks to the flexible options, not all deals are subject to a long yearly contract. This is a downside with integrated device deals as rival providers often set prices for up to 36 months, so if customers find a cheaper deal elsewhere they can't leave without paying an exit fee.
The 100GB ID Mobile deal is the same price for both a rolling 30-day plan and its full 12-month contract, both set at £12 each. This means those who aren't sure can take out the rolling plan without paying a premium to do so.
Martin Lewis issues 8-week warning to phone users ahead of huge price hikesThe provider's current SIM-only deals also give users data rollover, so any remaining balance can be transferred to use during the following month, a rare feature as data is usually capped as a 'maximum limit'.
It's the second time this week we've backed one of iD Mobile's deals as the provider also featured one of the lowest pre-order prices on the new Google Pixel Fold device. The ID Mobile Google Pixel plan is £71.99 a month with an upfront cost of £129 and a free Google Pixel Watch.
