While a high percentage of the fun in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is from using your powers to break the game, players have also figured out how to break the game in some unintended ways, including item duplication.

Link has received plenty of new abilities in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, including one that the developers at Nintendo definitely didn't anticipate – the ability to duplicate almost any item in the game, including weapons, shields, bows, materials (such as diamonds which you can sell at 500 Rupees a pop to completely break the in-game economy –I wont judge). With this glitch you'll even be able to duplicate the weapons you can obtain through scanning compatible Tears of the Kingdom amiibo (such as the Fierce Deity Sword). You can't however duplicate meals, armour, key items and sadly you won't be able to duplicate the Master Sword once you obtain it.

As players continue to dig deep in to every single nook and cranny of the game, some have discovered how to do exactly that, which in turn can break the game's balance, economy, and challenge. If you don't care about all that and just want to dupe like crazy, the glitch is actually very simple to perform, meaning just about anyone can do it if they know how. Lucky for you that's exactly what we're here to tell you.

These methods aren't guaranteed to work every time, so if you don't have any success, just give it another go. Some players have reported losing the item they want to dupe, so be sure to create a save file before you do this, just in case.

Okay, so you've picked the item you want to duplicate, right? Here's how you do it:

Tears of Kingdom duplication glitch: weapons, shields, and bows

Duplicating weapons, shields, and bows in Tears of the Kingdom is a bit more complex requiring you to play about with saves.

If you've done this right, you should see the original item on Link's back, while the duped item is on the ground.

And that's all you need to know, go free and break the game as much as you please. You may want to go into your Nintendo Switch settings and turn off Auto Updates just incase Nintendo patches this exploit.
