The first post-release update for Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom prevents players from getting stuck in the story and addresses “several other issues”.

Everything is definitely coming up Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom currently, with players breaking and experimenting within the game in various ways since its release on Nintendo Switch last week. In amongst the general creativity this Zelda: Breath of the Wild sequel encourages, however, equally surprising is just how polished Link’s latest adventure was at launch. Aside from the odd framerate dip – which we noted in our review – there are hardly any glitches or technical woes to spot. But this hasn’t stopped Nintendo from issuing fixes in the form of Update 1.1.1.

As detailed on Nintendo’s official support page, Update 1.1.1’s patch notes details a brief handful of fixes, possibly proving that there really isn’t much to address at all. The main fix is targeted at fixing an in-game story quest called The Closed Door , where in some instances players wouldn’t be able to complete it or progress. Other than this, Nintendo is just as secretive as ever in its patch notes, merely mentioning that “several other issues” have been implemented to improve Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

1.1.1 is available to download now for anyone who has a Nintendo Switch with a copy of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom installed. You should automatically receive the prompt the next time you access the game but if not, simply highlight the game on your Nintendo Switch home screen, find the Software Update option and then update the file via the internet. Luckily, Update 1.1.1 isn’t that big at all and should only take a couple of minutes to download.

Here’s the full list of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom’s patch notes as detailed by Nintendo itself. Believe me, they won’t take too much time to read.
