Social media star Hasbulla issues apology after arrest for 'dangerous driving'

Social media sensation Hasbulla has issued an apology after he was arrested in Russia with police citing dangerous driving.

Hasbulla, who is 20-years-old and has a rare type of dwarfism, shot to fame during the coronavirus pandemic after a mock press conference for a potential fight with rival Andu Rozik who also shares a similar condition. The influencer was filmed in videos that later went viral going for a wild ride in a car as he celebrated a wedding with his friends.

He was not himself seen at the wheel of the vehicle, but was standing in one of the cars performing stunts including doughnuts and cutting through the traffic. The group were taken into police custody, and the Dagestan Ministry Of Affairs later posted a video which included Hasbulla explaining their actions.

After the arrest Hasbulla offered a short explanation on social media, explaining: "We decided to hype it up a bit. This will not happen again, we apologise. We played around a bit and had to answer for it. It wasn't my car and I wasn't behind the wheel."

Hasbulla made it very clear that he hadn't been directly involved in driving the car that had performed the stunts in his statement. And a statement on the incident from the Dagestan's Internal Affairs Ministry, added: "Unbridled wedding fun in Dagestan is known to many and far beyond the borders of the republic.

"In the absence of other ways of entertainment, such a primitive option is still extremely popular - blocking roads for other road users, burning rubber, smashing cars against each other and many other features that, in fact, have nothing to do with the celebration.

"All participants of 'wedding emotions', as they themselves call it, were taken to the police, and in relation to them, employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Dagestan drew up administrative protocols for all violations."

The car involved was later pictured with huge scratches down the side but luckily there was no significant damage to anyone inside or around the area where the group were performing stunts. This is the second time in a number of weeks that the social media star has faced backlash, after a video resurfaced of him striking his cat.

However he refused to apologise about the incident insisting he was disciplining his pet for bad behaviour, despite MMA fans questioning his actions. It is likely that he will next make a public appearance at the UFC event scheduled for Abu Dhabi in October, which could be headlined by Leon Edwards.
