A parent has shared that they want to take only their eldest child on a walking holiday - but is not sure how the youngest will react.
They explained that the oldest kid is physically fitter than the youngest and the parent knows the kid can handle doing some tougher climbs, but the youngest is not quite there yet.
However, the parent is worried that the youngest will get jealous and upset if they are not invited on the holiday as well so the parent is stuck on what do to.
Taking to Mumsnet, the parent added that the youngest is just not built in the same way as the elder brother.

My six-year-old son doesn't - no disabilities etc, but even accounting for him being there years younger he's just not built the same way.

"I love the outdoors and hill walking and both kids are pretty keen but as a family we're normally limited to what the six-year-old can manage."
Now, the parent is considering taking the eldest to North Wales to do some more difficult hill walking.
"The nine-year-old is easily fit enough now to take on some peaks in Snowdonia. I'd love to take him away for a weekend to tackle a proper mountain. He'd love it. And it’d be nice to have some 1-1 time with him," they wrote.
"But the six-year-old would be gutted. He thinks (despite all evidence to contrary) he's as capable as my eldest. He's also very attached to me so would be particularly jealous of me going away with just the eldest."
In response, many warned the parent about doing this and the dangers of making the youngest kid feel left out.
One person wrote: "I would only do this if I could take the other child away for a solo weekend too."
While another stated: "No I wouldn't dream of doing this if it would upset the younger child."
