Below Deck crew member admits strict rule about their appearance on the show

Below Deck crew members have to adhere to a strict set of rules while appearing on the hit Bravo show, including being unable to change a key part of their appearance.

With cameras rolling pretty much 24/7 onboard the yachts, a lot of planning has to go into the stars' looks to make sure they look camera ready throughout the series

To help with continuity, the cast are asked to keep their hairstyles the same throughout and so must chose and stick with their choice for the entirety of filming.

Hair and makeup stylist Natalie Castillo, who worked on several Below Deck seasons, said: "For example, with Rocky [Raquel Dakota from Below Deck season three] and her curly hair. She picked that."

Natalie said she lets the cast choose what they want their look to be for the rest of the season.

"I tell them in the beginning if you want to wear your hair straight, it has to be straight for the rest of the season," she told CheatSheet.

Natalie recalled how in Below Deck season two and three, cast member Amy Johnson wanted "big Texas hair", which they had to stick to throughout filming.

She said things could get tricky when the cast came to hair and makeup after a night of drinking.

"Of course, when they’re hungover and they come in, hair and makeup, does it make my job a little harder? Of course, it does," she joked.

Natalie said there had been countless times when a cast member sat in her chair ready to get their hair done when she could still smell vodka from the night before.

Natalie's behind-the-scenes secrets come after it was reported Captain Lee Rosbach will not return for the 11th season of the show.

The 73-year-old will reportedly be replaced by Captain Kerry Titheradge for season 11.

The reasons for Lee's exit have not yet been confirmed, but they come after he was forced to bid an emotional goodbye to his crew in season 10 to deal with ongoing health issues.

"I'm gonna go back to the States, get this straightened out and as soon as I do, I'll be on the first plane back here and tell whoever's on board to get the f*** off my boat," he told his co-stars as he broke the news of his departure.
