Always breaking your smartphone? Nokia might have the answer thanks to the release of its rugged new XR21 device. This very strong smartphone is made of tough stuff with it featuring an aluminium chassis and a design that's covered in mighty Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. Nokia reckons it's been put through some intensive tests including being dropped, left submerged in water and even blasted with a hose that's as powerful as that used by the fire brigade.

Despite taking all of that serious punishment, Nokia is confident it survived without a scratch.

To give owners some additional peace of mind, the famous Finnish phone firm says that it will include a three-year warranty with the device and the XR21's screen covered by an additional one-year replacement guarantee. That means users will be able to get cracks or smashes fixed for free should things break.

Along with its tough design, the XR21 gets all of the usual features you'd expect to find on a modern smartphone.

Owners will be treated to a pixel-packed 6.49” FHD+ screen with a speedy 120Hz refresh rate for super speedy scrolling. There's also dual-lens camera on the rear case with this snapper able to shoot bright images when the sun goes down thanks to a dedicated night Mode.

Tucked under the hood is a Snapdragon processor, 4800mAh battery and 128GB of storage. Other bonus features include fast charging, a 3.5mm audio jack for headphones and three years of OS upgrades which will make sure things stay up to date with the latest features from Google.

Nokia has also added nifty Quick Access buttons which let users get to their favourite features without having to touch the screen.

If the XR21 sounds enticing then it launches today with prices starting from £499.

It's available in Pine Green or Midnight Black.

"This is the smartphone version of the famous near-indestructible Nokia 3310," said Adam Ferguson Head of Product Marketing, for Nokia phones. "This is the smartphone version of the famous near-indestructible Nokia 3310. "It is so durable that it can withstand a soaking from a 100-bar pressure water hose jet with an 80°C water temperature. In fact, we’re so confident in our new durable hero that we are offering a one-year screen replacement guarantee should the worst happen."
