US news reporter Nick Foley has opened up on what will be the biggest fight of his life as he continues to battle a rare form of cancer.
The WHIO-TV anchor was recently diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, which is a former of cancer of the plasma cells, which usually affects the bones and immune system.
Nick is set to begin his treatment later this week. He will undergo five months of medication and treatment while also having 10 days of radiation therapy.
In a statement, Nick said: "The diagnosis is definitely a terrifying development but we’ve had time to process and my family has an incredible support system here in the Miami Valley and beyond.
"I plan to follow treatment and radiation to the letter and get the condition under control."

Nick Foley plans to stay on screen throughout his treatment (Channel 5)Nick is set to continue his role on News Center 7 Daybreak wherever possible during his treatment process and plans to give regular updates to his fans and viewers.
He continued: "I don’t plan on going anywhere and want my story to perhaps be a reminder to others to listen to their bodies and seek care immediately if something is not right."
According to Mayo Clinic, symptoms to be wary of for Myeloma include bone pain, specifically in the spine or chest area.
Others include, nausea, constipation, mental fogginess or confusion and fatigue. Frequent infections, weight loss and weakness or numbness in the legs could also indicate an issue, as can excessive thirst and a loss of appetite.

His first 15 years were spent covering sports before he moved into the news sector. His career has led him across the country to work in a number of different states.
He began his role as anchor for WHIO in Dayton in November 2022.
