A police officer has been charged with rape while on duty.
Sergeant David Stansbury is charged with three counts of raping a woman in 2009.
The 42-year-old, from Ilminster, Somerset, is due to appear at Plymouth Magistrates' Court on Wednesday (April 19).
The charges relate to alleged incidents in Plymouth, and have been under investigation since being reported to the Devon & Cornwall Police in September 2020.
PS Stansbury is now a serving officer with Hertfordshire Police, having served with Devon & Cornwall Police from 2009-2011.
