Amanda Holden’s comedy show starring pal Keith Lemon as her 'nan' has been axed from Channel 4.

The Holden Girls: Mandy and Myrtle was a faux reality mockumentary series depicting Amanda's life as she persuades her lonely nan to relocate from Doncaster to her swanky London house.

Other big stars who made cameo appearances included Take That star Howard Donald, Good Morning Britain’s Ben Shepard, singer Jason Donovan and Amanda’s Heart radio co-host Ashley Roberts.

It first aired in September 2021 and ran for one eight-part series, but some viewers weren’t impressed.

One took to Twitter to declare it the “worst show ever made” after tuning in for just 10 seconds of the first episode.

It seems Channel 4 have taken note, as the show hasn’t been renewed for a second series.

A source told The Sun : “The Holden Girls proved hilarious together and bosses loved working with Amanda and Keith. But they’ve decided to focus their attention on new comedy shows.”

Channel 4 had "nothing to add" when approached by The Mirror about this story.

But a spokesperson for Amanda Holden told The Mirror the show was only ever commissioned for one series.

They said: “This was only ever a one-off series as agreed two years ago when filming took place.”

David - who had been a judge on BGT for 10 years - apologised for making 'disrespectful comments', which were made during breaks for filming the show.

A source told The Sun at the time: “He [David] hasn’t taken the decision lightly, but it just feels like time to move on.

“His team have quietly been having conversations over the past few days where it has been made clear that David is readying himself to step down... after an amazing ten years on the show, it is the right time to move on.”
