Mohamed Salah has promised Liverpool will bounce back next season following a disappointing campaign that hit a fresh low point on Saturday.
The Reds were thumped by Premier League title challengers Manchester City, despite having gone a goal ahead. But strikes from Julian Alvarez, Kevin de Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogan and Jack Grealish ultimately secured a dominant win for the hosts.
It was another disastrous result for Jurgen Klopp's side, with the heavy defeat a costly blow to their hopes of finishing in the top four. The Reds have now slipped to eighth in the table, eight points behind Manchester United, who sit fourth.
Salah had opened the scoring for his side at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday. The Egyptian has endured a difficult season compared to his past performances, which included winning the Premier League's golden boot last year.
But summing up his drive to improve, the 30-year-old has insisted the Reds will improve next term. Klopp's side have no chance of winning a trophy this term, but Salah has insisted they remain hungry for trophies.

"We are hungry and we like to play together. We have a group who have played together for five or six years. So we just enjoy our football here and play our football, that's why we say 'we go next season'," the attacker told BT Sport.

Liverpool face a huge test in their next game with a visit to Chelsea, who sacked Graham Potter on Sunday evening. And boss Klopp is hoping to pick his side up from their disappointment at City.
"I told the boys now there is nothing from my side to say for tonight. Everything is obvious and everyone needs to think about it and then tomorrow we have to talk about it, but that was nothing for now," he said on Saturday.
"It is not a lot of time, but it is time – we don't play tomorrow, we play Tuesday. We should play better, especially more consistently. Being good while you're feeling good is OK, but not being good when you don't feel 100 per cent is obviously not possible in the Premier League.
"That's what happens in the moment; we spoke about it in the press conference yesterday. Being 1-0 down this year changed pretty much everything for us. I don't like to mention these things, but I cannot ignore it as well.
"Again, today we concede two quick goals and, again, then it is super-difficult here – if not nearly impossible – to come back from a two-goal deficit, but you can make it a bit more difficult for them if you stick to the things you did in your good moments."
