A lucky punter has won a remarkable £440,000 from a small stake multiple bet.

The William Hill customer hit the jackpot when all five of his selections romped to victory on Saturday. The 50p each-way Lucky 31 was placed on the opening day of the turf Flat season. The male customer placed the online bet at 10.30am on Saturday morning.

The punt included Pertemps Lincoln winner Migration at 18-1, while he also tipped Bear Force One at 20-1 at Kempton.

Their final selection was Astral Beau, who obliged at 40-1, and although there was a 45p Rule 4 in the race, his victory in the Listed Doncaster Mile still meant the customer won £441,913.

William Hill spokesman Lee Phelps said: “It was certainly a brilliant Saturday for one of our customers, whose 50p each-way Lucky 31 won them over £440k.

“All five of the selections in the bet won, including Migration at 18-1 in the highlight of the day, the Lincoln at Doncaster, and after their final pick, Astral Beau, won well in the next race they were celebrating taking home £441,913.”

The Lucky 31 had a total stake of £31.

Selections:

Vadream (10/1) WON

Migration (18/1) WON

Astral Beau (40/1, 45p R4) WON

Bear Force One (20/1) WON

Foxes Tales (4/1) WON

Foxes Tales kicked things off on the all-weather at Kempton in the Magnolia Stakes. The punter got 4-1 about Andrew Balding's horse.

Bear Force One in the mile handicap at the same track was an outsider who had not won in six starts since scoring on turf at Newbury in August 2021.

Vadream scooted home at Doncaster in the Cammidge Trophy and was followed by Migration's last gasp win in the Lincoln under Benoit de la Sayette in the heavy ground.

Astral Beau was an inspired final tip, winning at 40-1 for the punter and revelling in the mud.
