People can get pretty protective over parking spaces, especially when someone is using their personal spot.

Some people might get angry and start shouting, or block you in the spot as a result, but one man has instead come up with a more cheeky way to get his own back in his situation.

The unnamed driver claims that his neighbour keeps parking in front of his house, instead of parking in front of her own property, and while this doesn't cause much of an issue for him, he did take action.

In response to a Reddit post encouraging people to share the 'pettiest' things they do on a regular basis, the man said: "My neighbour keeps parking in front of my house. It's not really a problem, but she seems to prefer in front of mine over in front of hers.

"I work from home, she seems to be in and out all day long. When she goes out, I nip out and pull my car two foot forward just to close up the space that she was in.

"Now when she comes back, the space she left 10 minutes ago is still there, but she can’t quite get back into it for some reason.

"I've even got a camera out front so can sit and watch her trying on my laptop."

A number of people enjoyed the post, with it garnering over 300 upvotes. One user branded the man's actions "wonderful" while another person said it was "fantastic".

A third said: "Well played!"

Someone else replied to share their own similar situation, adding: "We have the same issue but on a grander scale. One of our neighbours is the sort that thinks they and their family own the road and the parking spaces thereon. He and his wife and daughters own 4 cars between them, but can only fit one at a time on the drive.

"So he and his family think it's acceptable to block other people's fronts and take their space as 'it's the King's Highway after all!' (is the answer we get when we confront them).

"I used to work shifts and have to leave by 6am. Once, his family had parked so tightly around my car I had to shuffle forwards and backward to get my car out and not hit theirs. I was on the same shift the next day and it gave me great pleasure to bang on their door at 5.50 am, to get them up to move their car so I could get out…they've not done it since."
