Lionel Richie told Drew Barrymore that her wild days in "wolf pack" with his daughter Nicole Richie "almost killed" him.
Appearing on The Drew Barrymore Show, the pair had a catch up about Drew's previous friendship with Lionel's adoptive daughter.
The 73-year-old said that Nicole's wilder days "almost killed" him.
Drew and Lionel began talking about the past when she asked him about his summer tour with Earth, Wind and Fire, saying she wanted to go to one of his shows.
Lionel said: "I'm really scared. Because I know Drew is gonna bring Nicole. And Nicole and Drew together is one big ham sandwich."

Lionel went on The Drew Barrymore Show (DREW)As Drew replied: "Nicole and I have grown up in and around each other. We've known each other for years. We're dear friends. We're a part of this little girl wolf pack."
Lionel explained: "I don't even know how that happened. You know, as parents, you go, 'this is going to be a disaster,' because Nicole and Paris. When they started out. If I lived through that, I can live through anything."
Drew then explained that despite their wild days, she and Nicole have now calmed down and gone on to be good mums.
The All Night Long singer said: "I love hearing it from your side of the story. So let me give you my side of the story.
Drew hosts the show (DREW)"You all almost killed me. I'm so glad you got it out of your system. I almost cut my system off. I almost lost consciousness."
He then went on to tell stories about Nicole growing up, including when he would get phone calls from the sheriff saying they had Nicole with them.
He said he was asked how he managed to deal with growing through that, saying: "I was somewhere between meditation and medication."'
Nicole now lives a very different life to her wild child days (WIREIMAGE)But Lionel admitted that he understood he would have behaved the same way growing up, but it was different due to where he lived.
He said: "Then I realised they're doing the same thing that I did to my folks, only worse, because they're doing it in Beverly Hills."
Lionel and Drew finished off the interview with a kiss on the cheek.
