Chelsea will take on Aston Villa on Saturday afternoon as they aim to keep their hopes of qualifying for Europe alive.

The Blues had begun to find a bit of form before the international break, winning three on the trot in all competitions before they were held by relegation-threatened Everton at Stamford Bridge. The west Londoners are still sat in mid-table, but are in close proximity to the Europa League spots.

Graham Potter's side will play three times in the space of a week as they seek to build some momentum heading into the final weeks of the season.

Here's the latest news from the blue part of the capital.

Potter impressed with Mount conduct

Potter has praised the manner in which Mason Mount has conducted himself in recent weeks amid injury problems and continued talk of a move away from the Blues.

Mount missed out on playing for England recently as he nursed a fitness issue whilst noise is gathering volume over a possible summer exit. Chelsea need to raise funds and the player is yet to sign a new deal, but Potter is impressed with his mindset.

He said: "It's been tough for him because he's had niggly injuries and noise off the pitch. He's a top professional, how he's acted with me and around us has been top. Sometimes if things in your career aren't optimal, you've got to act well and he has."

Tuchel optimistic on Chelsea capture

Former Blues boss Thomas Tuchel, who was axed earlier this season, is back in football with Bayern Munich after replacing Julian Nagelsmann. The German has quickly had to compile his coaching staff having started work at the Allianz Arena.

He's keen to add Anthony Barry, who he worked with at Chelsea and remains in west London, having stated: “My coaching staff wasn’t prepared either, so a big thank you to their families for their flexibility. Arno Michels and Zsolt Löw, who have been working with me for over ten years, will be there. We’re hoping to add Anthony Barry, who is currently at Chelsea.”

Tuchel has now revisited the matter and is confident a deal can be struck. He said: "It's a matter between the clubs. It's still my absolute wish for him to come. The clubs have to reach an agreement. But I'm optimistic"

Mudryk confident of success

Mykhaylo Mudryk believes those who claim he is a "loser" will one day turnaround and call him a "winner" as he remained defiant despite his challenging start to life at Chelsea.

The Blues signed the Ukrainian in January, pipping Arsenal to his signature, as they paid a mammoth £89m to prize him away from Shakhtar Donetsk. Mudryk put in an impressive substitute cameo on his debut against Liverpool at Anfield, but has struggled to live up to the hype since.

He is yet to score for the west London outfit, who themselves have struggled for goals since the turn of the year. Mudryk's price tag was always going to bring with it huge expectation and the player concedes it has added pressure, but he's confident the tide will turn in his favour.
