Jamelia has joined the cast of Hollyoaks, it's been announced - after having previously appeared in a guest role on the Channel 4 soap opera two years ago.
The singer, 42, is reprising her role as Sharon Bailey, whom she first portrayed in a special episode which aired in 2021. She's now said to be a full-time cast member on the show.
The character - who is set to return in an episode later this month - is the mother of Zoe Anderson (played by Garcia Brown) and the daughter of Pearl Anderson (Dawn Hope).
Sharon is set to arrive in the village later this month for a Mother's Day episode, with the resident paediatrician paying a surprise visit to her daughter and mother.
New photos of Jamelia, who is said to have been filming since January, on the set of the Channel 4 show have been released ahead of her upcoming on-screen return.

The actor teased that her character's arrival "unsettles the family dynamic" and said it's "complicated" with the three generations but "hopefully that is relatable" to viewers.
She added: "Sharon hasn't always prioritised her daughter and her mum is stuck in the middle. There's a lot for them to work through and I can’t wait for viewers to see how that plays out on screen."
Jamelia's character Sharon is said to feature in an upcoming storyline with Felix Westood (Richard Blackwood) and Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) on the show.
Jamelia rose to fame with her music career, releasing songs such as Superstar and Thank You in the early 2000s. The award-winning singer has released three studio albums.
She has however more recently ventured into acting, including having appeared in TV shows such as Death in Paradise, Doctors and Little Darlings over the last decade.
Jamelia's return to Hollyoaks is set to air on March 20 on E4 and March 21 on Channel 4. You can catch up on previous episodes of the show now through All4.
