Arsenal have confirmed that season ticket prices are set to increase by up to six percent - despite fewer games set to be made available for Gunners supporters next season.

The North London side have announced a number of significant changes set to be made to their season ticket scheme for the 2023/24 season; a campaign in which they will be hoping to head into as defending champions. A club statement has confirmed that prices will go up across the Emirates Stadium on average by 5 per cent.

General admission ticket holders in the lower tier of the stadium will see their tickets increase by six per cent, whilst fellow fans in the upper tier will increase by four per cent. Meanwhile, it has also been announced that fans will be paying for fewer matches.

Previously, Arsenal season ticket holders were paying for 26 home matches per campaign. That amount encompassed all 19 of the Gunners’ Premier League matches on home soil, five European matches and two home FA Cup clashes - even if they were not all played. On average this season, a season ticket costs £1,268 at Arsenal which includes European games.

Now, Arsenal supporters will only be paying for 22 matches for the forthcoming campaign which includes all of the side’s Premier League home matches and three European group stage fixtures. As it stands, season ticket holders have had to fork out additional funds for any FA Cup and knockout European fixtures staged at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners have made these decisions based on feedback from current season ticket holders. It is suggested that more flexibility was desired by fans regarding which fixtures they wanted to attend.

Is is understood that the decision to decrease the amount of matches included with season tickets will make 150,000 more tickets available for members to purchase during the 2023/24 campaign.

Whilst the Gunners have made alterations to their pricing strategy, it has also been announced that they have altered their ticketing system itself. Enhancements have been made to the system to eliminate automatic bots.

100,000 artificial buyers have been blocked over recent weeks in an ongoing effort for Arsenal to clamp down on ticket touts. The Gunners will certainly hope that the decisions allow for season ticket holders to continue attending games.

Boss Mikel Arteta has regularly praised the atmosphere in North London as the Gunners attempt to end their long wait for a Premier League title. He said: "Our supporters have been absolutely phenomenal. They have transformed the mood of the club, that's my opinion, and they have transferred the belief of the players. To share that with them at the end there is really special. I had my family there, I had my son there in the middle of the crowd so it was really great."
