Ozzy Osbourne has admitted that he is in a state of 'constant pain' after undergoing 'life-altering surgery'.

The 74-year-old Black Sabbath singer has revealed that he still struggles with the after-effects of a spinal surgery procedure, which he underwent in June 2022.

Speaking on the most recent episode of SiriusXM’s Ozzy’s Boneyard, the iconic musician admitted: "Well, I've been working my guts out to try and get back on my feet.

"I’ve come to the point where Sharon says to me, 'You know what, the truth of the matter is, you can't keep booking tours and failing, canceling,'" he recalled about a conversation with his wife Sharon Osbourne, 70.

The Crazy Train hitmaker continued: "So, if I can ever get back to where I can tour again, fine. But right now, if you said to me, 'Can you go on the road in a month?' I couldn't say, 'Yes'.

"I mean, if I could tour, I'd tour. But right now I can't book tours because right now, I don't think I could pull them off."

The radio co-host, Billy Morrison, also told listeners that he didn't think Ozzy would be retiring after he announced he would need to cancel his tour.

The singer said: "This f***ing press drive you nuts. I mean, I, I looked in the magazine, 'Ozzy's on his last legs,' I'm f***ing not dying."

The Black Sabbath legend had extensive spinal surgery following a fall at his home in 2019, which had further aggravated injuries from a near-fatal quad bike crash in 2003. He has also been battling Parkinson's Disease.

He underwent spinal surgery which left him with 15 screws in his back, and nerve pain in his neck, back, shoulders and arms.

In recent months, the rocker has been spotted using a cane. In January, Ozzy was seen linking arms with his helper as he headed to a fitness class in Los Angeles.

Ozzy cancelled his UK and Europe tour due to him "not physically capable" of performing following the surgery. In February, he said breaking the news to his fans was "probably one of the hardest things [he's] ever had to share".

He went on to say he "never would have imagined that [his] touring days would have ended this way". In a statement, he wrote: "This is probably one of the hardest things I've ever had to share with my loyal fans. As you may know, four years ago, this month, I had a major accident, where I damaged my spine.

"My one and only purpose during this time has been to get back on stage. My singing voice is fine. However, after three operations, stem cell treatments, endless physical therapy sessions, and most recently groundbreaking Cybernics (HAL) Treatment, my body is still physically weak.

"I am honestly humbled by the way you've all patiently held onto your tickets for all this time, but in all good conscience, I have now come to the realisation that I'm not physically capable of doing my upcoming European/ UK tour dates, as I know I couldn't deal with the travel required. Believe me when I say that the thought of disappointing my fans really F***S ME UP, more than you will ever know.

"Never would I have imagined my touring days would have ended this way. My team is currently coming up with ideas for where I will be able to perform without having to travel from city to city and country to country.

"I want to thank my family.... my band.... my crew.... my longtime friends, Judas Priest, and of course my fans for their endless dedication, loyalty, and support, and for giving me the life that I never dreamed that I would have.

"I love you all..."

Although he currently isn't able to perform, the rock star is still making music and being awarded for his contributions to the music industry.

Most recently, Ozzy recently won best metal performance and best rock album at the Grammy Awards this year. It was his first Grammy Award win in almost 30 years.

He was awarded the best rock album for his 13th solo record, Patient Number 9 and best metal performance for the single Degradation Rules featuring his Black Sabbath bandmate Tony Iommi.

Ozzy was not present at the ceremony. However, when asked what the awards mean to him he said: "It's an award. It's, like, film has the Oscars — music has the Grammys. I'm not saying I don't like 'em, but I wish I could tour to back it up."
