Heir to Singha beer empire sacked after incest abuse allegations from his brother go public

The heir to the Singha beer empire has been dismissed after his British brother accused him of incestuous sexual abuse in an emotional video.

Sunit “Pi” Scott was removed from his role at the Thai beer giant after his younger brother, Siranudh Scott, 29, posted a tearful video on Facebook.

In the video, Siranudh alleged that he had been abused for more than a decade in the family’s luxurious mansions.

In the shocking video, prominent environmental activist Siranudh said his brother Sunit had forced him to perform a sexual act on him.

He addressed his older brother directly in the video, saying: “What you did to me… many times over the years, when you were 14 or 16. Pi, that affected me.”

Siranudh accused Sunit of repeatedly abusing him between the ages of 12 and 24.

Another voice can be heard in the video, allegedly Sunit’s.

The voice doesn’t deny the abuse claims, but says: “I don’t even know what I’m doing, to be honest.

“I’m just like a child who doesn’t know what they’re doing.”

Siranudh also accused his family of covering up his claims, stating they knew about the alleged abuse and had heard the taped “confession.”

Fighting back tears, Siranudh said: “I don’t want to stay in a family that doesn’t value me or have empathy for me.

“I can’t live with this kind of people.

“Everyone in my family knows it because they listened to the tape I recorded of his confession.”

Sunit initially denied the abuse allegations, describing them as “not true” and “deeply unsettling.”

According to Thai news outlet Thaiger, Sunit did admit there had been some so-called “rough” play between the boys when they were younger.

One of Thailand’s richest men, Singha’s CEO Bhurit Bhirombhakdi, who is their cousin, sided with Siranudh as the scandal grew.

He dismissed Sunit from all his positions, the beer brand’s parent company Boonrawd Brewery Company said in a statement.

The company wrote that it “would like to express its deepest regret to Siranudh Scott for what happened.”

It added that it was cooperating with authorities in their investigations.

Bhirombhakdi also shared a letter from the accused Sunit that read: “In order to ensure fairness for all parties, I hereby resign from my duties as an employee and executive… until the matter is clarified and conclusively proved.”
