Media report death of Khamenei’s adviser during airstrikes

An adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei — Ali Shamkhani — may have been killed as a result of U.S. and Israeli airstrikes, according to the opposition Iranian outlet Iran International.

According to the report, Shamkhani, who was a member of the Expediency Discernment Council and served as a political adviser to Khamenei, was among those killed in the strikes.

However, there is no official confirmation of this information. Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that after the attacks, “almost all officials are alive and safe.”

“We may have lost one or two commanders, but this is not a major problem,” he added.
