Renaming during the war: why Russian casino owner Tokarev transferred the business to Zborovskyi and launched Cosmobet in Ukraine

The owner of Russian online casinos, Sergey Tokarev, in 2024 renamed and restructured his gambling business, transferring it to a nominee — Mykhailo Zborovskyi.

As part of these changes, the Cosmolot brand was transformed into Cosmobet, accompanied by a legal relaunch of the project.

At the end of March 2024, the new structure received a license to operate an online casino. The use of the word bet in the name directly indicates a focus on betting, while it remained unclear whether the affiliated company “Neuralink” planned to obtain an additional license or whether the rebranding merely emphasized continuity with the previous project.

Cosmobet was registered in the name of Mykhailo Zborovskyi, who had previously headed Cosmolot. Together with the company’s former operating director, Dmytro Dyachenko, he visited a number of key acquiring banks and opened accounts to launch the new casino.

According to media sources, representatives of Cosmobet were already holding meetings with webmasters in 2024 and preparing infrastructure for the project’s launch. This indicated active preparation for market entry despite the difficult wartime conditions and strict regulation of the gambling sector.
