Beyonce struggled to hold back her emotions as she won her 32nd Grammy Award on Sunday.

Trevor Noah labelled her "the GOAT" after her heartfelt speech following her fourth win of the night, which was presented to her by James Corden.

The accolade saw her become the most decorated artist in the show's history surpassing the 26-year-old record once held by the late Hungarian-British conductor Georg Solti.

Taking to the stage to accept the award, an emotional Queen Bey, 41, said: "I'm trying not to be too emotional," before taking several pauses to try to compose herself.

Her win was applauded by her husband Jay-Z who rose to his feet to show his pride.

Beyonce went on to thank her late uncle, her parents, Jay-Z and her children for supporting her, before saying: "I'm just trying to receive this night. I want to thank God for protecting me. Thank you, God."

Beyonce has now collected 32 awards following her wins for best R&B song for Cuff It, dance-electric music recording for Break My Soul, traditional R&B performance for Plastic Off the Sofa and dance-electric music for her seventh studio album Renaissance, which is also nominated for album of the year.

The Single Ladies songstress missed the milestone of her tying Solti's record, which stood since 1997.

When the award was announced, the night's host Trevor Noah informed the crowd she was on her way to the ceremony but had got stuck in traffic, meaning she wasn't able to accept it initially.

The song was written by several writers including Beyonce, The-Dream, Nile Rodgers and Raphael Saadiq.

Once Beyonce - the night's leading nominee - finally arrived, Trevor paused proceedings to present her with the best R&B song award at her table.

Elsewhere, Lizzo wowed fans with a stunning rendition of her hit tune Special.

Harry Styles also put on an energetic performance in yet another dazzling outfit.

Sam Smith also performed alongside Kim Petras after they had won win best pop duo/group performance.
