Major road closures after deadly crash involving e-bike and pedestrians in North Manchester
The two pedestrians are in the hospital with serious injuries following the collision. An e-bike rider has died, and two pedestrians have been seriously injured following a crash, resulting in the closure of several roads by police.
The collision took place in North Manchester on Tuesday, December 2. The rider, confirmed by police as male, was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident on Rochdale Road, Blackley. Both pedestrians were rushed to the hospital after being seriously injured.
The force has cordoned off the area as investigations are underway, and closures are in place on Whitemoss Road and Lionbrow Road, according to Manchester Evening News. A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "Officers are dealing with a serious RTC on Rochdale Road in north Manchester between an e-bike rider and two pedestrians.
The male e-bike rider has sadly been pronounced dead at the scene, and the two pedestrians have been taken to the hospital with serious injuries. While officers continue with their investigations, there will be significant road closures in place, namely on Rochdale Road, Whitemoss Road, and Lionbrow Road. Please avoid the area if you can and find an alternative route."
