Six women targeted in terrifying week of sexual assaults by fake officer in Valencia

A man who allegedly posed as a police officer to hunt down, and sexually assault women has been arrested in Spain.

The 33-year-old traveled around the city of Valencia on an electric scooter, choosing his victims – aged between 19 and 28 years – in the early hours of the mornings.

The Spanish newspaper Levante reported that all the attacks happened in less than a week, and that he posed as a Civil Guard officer.

He threatened that he had all ‘their information’ and that they all had to do what he wanted or face ‘legal reprisals’.

The man then told them he had to do a full-body search. This is when he sexually abused all the women, taking advantage of the fact that there was no one on the street.

The incidents happened between August 15 and 18.

His last known victim was a sex worker, who he assaulted in a doorway in Valencia’s Trinitat district.

The man threatened her with deportation if she spoke out, warning that he ‘knew that she was in Spain illegally, before also telling her that he ‘will kill her’.

He then stole the woman’s underwear and mobile phone before fleeing the scene.

Valencia Police finally arrested him this week after victims contacted the force and shared his description.

During a search of his home, officers discovered the personal belongings of the women.

The suspect has since been charged with six counts of sexual assault, as well as impersonating a police officer and theft.
