Callum Ulysses Parslow, who has been jailed for life, tried to post on social media in the minutes after the attack saying he "just did my duty to England" after attacking his victim.

A white supremacist who has Hitler’s signature tattooed on his arm has been jailed for life after attempting to murder an asylum seeker he wanted to "exterminate".

Callum Ulysses Parslow tried to post to social media in the minutes after the attack saying he "just did my duty to England" but the message failed to send. He was found guilty by a jury who heard he had stabbed Nahom Hagos in the chest and hand at the Pear Tree Inn at Smite hotel, near Worcester in April last year.

The 32-year-old computer programmer had researched small boat landing sites, and told the jury he travelled to the hotel to stab "one of the Channel migrants" as a “form of protest” because he was "angry and frustrated". Mr Hago, a 25-year-old Eritrean national, has leave to remain in the UK until November 2028.

The three-week trial at Leicester Crown Court was told Parslow attacked Mr Hagos with a "specialist" knife he had bought online for £770. Prosecutor Tom Storey KC told the jury Mr Hagos had previously lived at the Pear Tree Inn and had returned to visit a friend. When Parslow arrived he asked Mr Hagos where he was from, and his victim replied "Eritrea".

Shortly after, while Mr Hagos was eating a meal, Parslow produced the knife and proceeded to stab and lash out at Mr Hagos, chasing him into a car park. The hotel manager and a builder used a van to take Mr Hagos to hospital in Worcester, worried he was quickly losing a lot of blood.

Parslow ran off towards a canal, where he was seen with what appeared to be blood on his hands.

Before the police arrived he tried to upload a self-written manifesto to social media site X - tagging far-right Tommy Robinson and prominent politicians including Sir Keir Starmer, Rishi Sunak, Nigel Farage and Suella Braverman, as well various newspapers and TV stations.

In it he talked about "evil enemies of nature and of England" attacking "the Jews, the Marxists and the globalists" that he said were responsible for demonising Christianity, white people and European culture. He tagged too many people in the post and it failed to send before he was arrested by police.

The court heard Parslow’s flat was searched and a second knife in a sheath, an axe, a metal baseball bat, a red armband bearing a swastika, a Nazi-era medallion and copies of Mein Kampf, were all found. Details of the trial could not be reported until a court order was lifted after Parslow pleaded guilty to an unconnected sexual offence and two charges under the Malicious Communications Act. He was sentenced for all offences today.

The court heard he had previous convictions for stalking women and was previously jailed for 30 months. In mitigation, the court heard Parslow has ASD and ADHD, which caused him to struggle with social interactions, the judge took this into account when deciding on his sentence. The judge told him that he poses a high risk to the public.

Today, Parlsow was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum of 22 years and eight months behind bars.

He was spotted on CCTV speaking to his victim

The moment Parslow attacked Nahom Hagos in a hotel pub was caught on CCTV

Mr Justice Dove sitting at Woolwich Crown Court on Friday, told the defendant: “You committed a vicious and unprovoked assault on a complete stranger Nahom Hagos who suffered devastating injuries as a result of your violence.”

The judge said Parslow was “motivated by your adoption of a far-right neo-Nazi mindset which fuelled your warped, violent and racist views”.

“This was undoubtedly a terrorist attack,” he added.

In a victim impact statement written earlier this month by Mr Hagos, and read in court by the prosecution, he described the “excruciating pain” he continues to suffer in his hand.

“The pain is unbearable and keeps me awake all night long,” Mr Hagos said. “The pain feels like an electric shock going through my hand and I now have insomnia.

“I had been living and pursuing a happy life before the incident. This is now a distant memory. I prefer to be on my own. I feel lonely and don’t feel safe on the street. My life has been turned upside down.”

In the statement he said he struggled to understand why Parslow attacked him, saying: “I was a law-abiding, good person.”
