Pilot killed in Fife Airport plane crash as police respond to the incident
A plane crashed just moments after take off from a Scottish airport this morning.
The incident occurred at Fife Airport shortly before 12pm today.
The plane, which had recently taken off, plummeted from the sky before crashing into a meadow.
Police have locked down the field.
It is currently unknown how many passengers were aboard the plane and the seriousness of their injuries.

A force spokesperson said: ‘Emergency services are in attendance near Fife Airport after a light aircraft crashed at 11.40am on Monday, 23 December, 2024. Enquiries are ongoing.’
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service sending a heavy rescue unit to the scene.
A spokesman said: ‘We were alerted at 11.38am on Monday, 23 December, to an incident involving a light aircraft near Kinglassie, Fife.
‘Operations Control mobilised two appliances and a heavy rescue unit to the scene to assist emergency services partners.’
Crews remain in attendance after additional services arrived by helicopter.
