Black Friday ram raid in Walton-on-Thames as a Range Rover crashes into a jeweller’s at high speed
The Walton-on-Thames raid is believed to be linked to a similar incident in Kingston, and was witnessed by several locals who said the suspects drove into and looted the shopfront
A dramatic ram raid at Fleur Jewellers in Walton-on-Thames has left the shopfront destroyed and the community shocked.
The incident occurred late on the eve of Black Friday, as thieves used a vehicle to smash through the store’s entrance, stealing valuables before making a quick getaway. Locals who witnessed the incident said the suspects drove into the shopfront, looted items, and fled in a second car without license plates.
One witness said: "Someone I know saw it happen. They got out, masked up, stole loads of items, and then a getaway car with no plates pulled up and drove off." A heavy police presence remains at the scene, with officers cordoning off the area as investigations continue. The vehicle used in the raid has been examined, and authorities are reviewing CCTV footage to identify the suspects.

Locals were left frustrated and devastated by the incident, with several taking to social media to express their sympathy for the shop owner, and some poking fun at the thieves’ actions. One social media users said: "This is awful. I feel very sad for the lady whose shop it is." Another added: "Welcome to Walton." And a third said: "Takes window shopping to a whole new level."

Pictures show the shop’s frontage knocked in and glass strewn across the pavement and interior, with framing seen scattered outside. The car can be seen protruding from the entrance with its boot open and a police car parked on the roadside. Speaking to the Metro, Craig Williamson, 72, said he heard "a massive crash" and saw the car hanging outside the shop. He initially believed it was an accident before "two boys" ran out of the shop.

He said: "At first I thought it was an accident. But then two boys came running out with two holdalls It was crazy it was madness. They were both wearing hooded jackets. They jumped in a white getaway car. One in the front one in the back. It was a professional job they were in and out in under two minutes. They drive off fast in the car."

The shop’s owner is reportedly devastated by the raid, which occurred during a critical sales period for the independent business.
