Kylie Minogue is still the Princess of Pop after sales of her prosecco helped drive her wine-making fortune up by £9.3million.

The singer’s signature rosé fizz is a best seller in the UK and every 1.5 seconds someone drinks one of her vinos, according to sales data.

Her collection of tipples have sold more than 7 million bottles around the world and last year it was reported Kylie’s prosecco alone had made £7.7min sales.

The Spinning Around singer made almost £1.4m via her London-based Darenote Limited, which is now worth £8.1m and is believed to channel the wine earnings and other royalties.

She also made £700,000 for the year up to the end of June via her touring firm, Ten Minutes Touring Company Limited, which is valued at £1.2m.

Kylie, 54, quit the UK to return to Australia more than a year ago, but set up a deal with London-based winemakers Benchmark Drinks, which also sells a Gary Barlow and Gordon Ramsay range of wines.

Benchmark boss Paul Schaafsma has said: “In my 25 years in the wine industry, I have never experienced such an overwhelming response to a brand in its first two years.

“It is testament to Kylie’s commitment and the incredible producers we work with.”

Canny Kylie has proved as shrewd in business as she is with her long-standing pop career, which began in the 1980s

The Aussie’s empire also profits from tie-ins such as the one she has with Specsavers.
