Five Brits are completely oblivious of having scooped a massive windfall on the National Lottery.

Time is running out for the lucky EuroMillions players, who would be able to call themselves instant millionaires on checking their tickets. For anyone who has recently played the pan-European competition, it's worth checking your numbers .

The National Lottery has warned that some of the winners have less than two months to validate and claim their winnings. Helpfully, they provided the locations of the lucky five, with them coming from Bolton, Northumberland, Shropshire, North Lanarkshire and Camden in north London. Each player has scooped a life-changing £1million each.

The Bolton and Northumberland winners have only until May to claim before their prize will be lost forever. The winner in Shropshire only has a slightly longer window, and needs to get in gear by July.

The North Lanarkshire and London Borough of Camden winners have a little longer and can claim until August 14. The National Lottery explained that big winners have to contact them directly.

Earlier this year, the shop worker who sold a winning scratch card to a couple resulting in an acrimonious battle has weighed in on the dilemma, saying both should split the cas. Michael Cartlidge and Charlotte Cox were ecstatic to discover they'd landed the £1million Lotto jackpot after Charlotte bought two Dice Towers cards from an off-licence. But hell broke loose when Charlotte walked out of the relationship, taking the rights to the winnings with her.

Michael, from Spalding, Lincolnshire, is now considering legal action against his ex. While Charlotte bought the tickets and scratched them herself, he insists the impulsive purchase was his idea and that he'd tried to pay for them right there in the shop, but was prevented from transferring the cash due to lack of reception.

Charlotte and sources close to her, in return, have rubbished these claims saying Michael was making it up to get his hands on the money. Now the shop assistant who served the couple has weighed in, saying the money "should be both of theirs".
