Wetherspoon has slashed the price of a pint of Guinness to celebrate St Patrick's Day this weekend.

From today, pub-goers can get themselves a range of Irish tipples for a fraction of the price until the end of St Patrick's Day this Sunday. The special offers will apply across all 814 Wetherspoon pubs except airports and funnily enough - the Republic of Ireland.

This weekend the price of a pint of Guinness will set you back just £2.99 nationally - usually a pint would cost you £3.45 which is a savings of 46p. Although Spoons prices do vary across the UK so in some areas the price of a pint would set you back even more. If you're not a big fan of the black gold you can grab yourself a pint of Budweiser which will also cost £2.99.

Lough Gill Andersons Irish Red Ale will be the cheapest pint over this weekend with a price tag of just £1.99. Jameson Irish whiskey will also be priced at £2.99 for a a single measure and mixer and a shot of Baby Guinness - which is made from coffee liqueur Kahlúa and Baileys and looks like little pints - will also cost £2.99.

The deals will likely be a big hit to rugby fans as Ireland and Scotland will go head to head for the title this Saturday at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin. The game will be kicking off at 4:45pm with the game being shown live on ITV1 and BBC according to the Radio Times. For Round 5 of the competition on Saturday, fans can also catch the Wales v Italy game at 2.15pm and the France v England match at 8pm. Ireland were crowned the champions last year and are favourites to retain the title this weekend.

Wetherspoon is showing all the fixtures from Europe’s biggest rugby tournament in its pubs nationwide. However, there are a handful of Spoons sites not showing the games as they do not have TV screens. These include:
