Celebrity Big Brother viewers were shocked that Louis Walsh brutally lashed out at Ronan Keating.
In scenes that aired on Tuesday night, viewers watched as the Housemates were treated to a VIP pop party where they were given treats, drinks, and the chance to dance to some classic pop songs. But when the song Life Is A Rollercoaster song by 47-year-old Ronan played in the house, 71-year-old Louis took a brutal swipe at the singer.
Ronan was a member of Boyzone - the chart topping band that Louis managed and also included 51-year-old Mikey Graham, 49-year-old Keith Duffy, and 47-year-old Shane Lynch. The band also included late singer Stephen Gately, who died in 2009 at the age of 33. Ronan then went on to enjoy success as a solo artist - with Louis continuing to work with him, until they went separate ways, creatively.
As Ronan’s song played in the Celebrity Big Brother House, Louis commented: “Great song.” But then he took an unexpected swipe at Ronan. He grumbled: “He was such a p***k.” And he didn’t back down. Speaking to 71-year-old Sharon Osbourne, he went on: “Everybody thinks he’s a lovely guy, do you know hat I mean?”
And then he claimed Ronan has failed to enjoy chart success without him. He raged: “He hasn’t had a hit record since I left. He sacked me.” Viewers watching from home were gobsmacked by Louis’s bitter comments - which followed other cold comments he made about iconic pop duo Jedward.
One stunned viewer wrote on X: "Louis Walsh dropping in that Ronan is a p***k and hasn’t had a hit record since Louis left……. Is there ANYONE he likes? Anyone who’s stopped making him money he bad mouths. Evil little troll #cbbuk."
Another remarked: "Good god #Louie on #CBBUK is not holding back is he." And another typed: "Is they're anyone louie like's get him out #cbbuk." (sic)
Minutes earlier, Louis unexpectedly lashed out at 32-year-old twins John and Edward Grimes - aka pop singing duet Jedward. Fellow housemate Colson Smith, 25, of Coronation Street fame asked Louis about some of the past musicians he had worked with.
The soap star asked: “What were Edward like?” And much to the shock of fans watching the show, Louis bluntly said: “They were vile.” Colson gasped and then said: “But they’ve done well.”
Louis then made the shock revelation that he managed to make millions out of managing the brothers - but that didn’t sweeten his opinion of them. He said: “I got five million quid for them. I swear on my mother’s life.”
Colson then gasped: “F**king hell. I wish I had a Jedward.” But Louis only doubled down. He sneered: “And they were vile. They were novelty. But great for the show.”
Louis’s comment provoked a furious response from the pop stars - who hit out at Louis on Twitter. The boys were supported by a legion of fans - including Towie star Gemma Collins, who wrote on Instagram: “Shocked to see what was said about my boys @jepicpics ... They are the sweetest talented polite educated kind boys I’ve ever met hence why they are always in my company !!! TEAM JEDWARD."
