It might be over a year old but the award-winning Galaxy S23 Ultra is still a superb smartphone to own. This device features a speedy Qualcomm processor, a giant 6.8-inch screen, a feature-packed quad camera with zoom and an S Pen that tucks neatly inside its shell. At launch, it would have set you back over £1,240 but thanks to its age that's no longer the case.

In fact, a new deal via Mobiles.co.uk(an online store owned by Currys) is offering the Galaxy S23 Ultra at a price that makes the latest Galaxy S24 Ultra look ludicrously expensive.

RIght now you can pop the 2023 Galaxy S23 Ultra in your online shopping basket for just £34.99 per month on a two-year contract. The deal includes 100GB of 5G data along with unlimited calls plus texts. There is a £49 upfront fee to pay but the whole deal over 24 months costs just £888.76. That's around £400 cheaper than buying it on launch day without any minutes, texts or access to the web.

As a quick comparison, EE is currently selling the S24 Ultra with unlimited everything for a whopping £79.50 per month with a £30 upfront fee. The total bill over two years works out a staggering £1,988 - that's over £1,000 more than buying the S23 Ultra.

Of course, the S24 Ultra does include a faster Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, an improved quad-rear camera and a new design made from Titanium.

It also comes packed with AI features including ways to translate calls in real time, improve photos with just one click and the ability to search for things just by circling them in an image.

It is worth noting that although those Galaxy AI functions mentioned above are currently exclusive to the S24 range, Samsung has promised it will be releasing an update to S23 devices this month that will bring many of those improvements to more devices.

If you want the best of the best then the S24 Ultra clearly beats the S23 Ultra. However, if you want a very affordable flagship the latest Mobiles.co.uk deal is tough to beat.
