Sharon Osbourne has revealed the emotional reason she wanted to reunite with Louis Walsh.
The pals have a long-standing friendship from their days together on the X Factor, as they entertained the nation on the talent show. They met again for the new series of Celebrity Big Brother, with fans branding their reunion "iconic". Sharon was the first celebrity to enter the Big Brother house and was shortly followed by Louis.
The duo have since been dishing the dirt on A-Listers, having swapped stories on name-dropper James Corden, vomit-inducing Ellen Degeneres and c-word Anna Wintour. While viewers have loved seeing the pair back on screen together, it appears fans aren't the only ones who wanted them to reunite.
Sharon's husband Ozzy Osbourne is credited as being the reason she signed up to take part alongside Louis. Rock star Ozzy loves watching old clips of Sharon and Louis from their judging days. Sharon explained to The Sun: "Since X Factor there’s still clips of Louis and I that go on different sites, I look at them and I think, 'My God, these are years old and they're still getting played.'
"And my husband is always looking at them and he's always saying, 'Oh God, you and Louis, what a couple'. And so it makes him laugh. And then I think, 'oh well…' because Ozzy's quite hard to make laugh and he just loves watching them." Both Sharon and Louis have poked fun at their former co-star Simon Cowell's changing appearance, as the reality TV queen joked he would "need more botox" by the time she's finished exposing him to the nation.
Ozzy Osbourne forced into retirement as he cancels tour in heartbreaking updateIn her angry rant, she said she wouldn't work with Simon again for "all the money in the world" and also made a swipe at her former friend for "wearing the same thing for three decades" as she fumed over what he had done to her career. Sharon only signed up for part of the show as she will leave the Big Brother house this evening.
The 71-year-old admitted she "can't cope" with being in the whole series and put an agreement in place to remain for a short time rather than the full 19 days. She joined the cast as Big Brother's 'lodger' and has been staying in her own plush living quarters. Sharon heartbreakingly revealed it would be too much to stay away from Ozzy, who has Parkinson's Disease.
She shared: "I don't want to stay away from Ozzy for too long. We're so close as a family. I don't think I have ever gone a week without talking to any of them, ever. Through fights, feuds, everything. We still talk and this will definitely be the longest." When Ozzy was diagnosed with the illness three years ago, Sharon explained: "There's so many different types of Parkinson's. It's not a death sentence by any stretch of the imagination, but it does affect certain nerves in your body. And it's like you have a good day, and then a really bad day."
