Emmerdale fans have been left fearful for Belle Dingle as Tom King's abuse gets even worse in heartbreaking scenes.

Viewers will know that controlling Tom King has been manipulating his wife Belle since they got married and isolating her from her friends and family. It has left fans worried that she might be making an exit from the Dales, as concerns grow on whether Tom might go to extreme lengths and even kill Belle, but this has yet to have even been hinted at by show bosses.

Next week on Emmerdale, Tom and Belle have a big disagreement about children, as he berates her for her decision to wait a little before they end up having kids. He then sabotages her new job after she's offered a chance to work with Take A Vow.

Suzy is surprised next week when she sees Belle working on reception at the vets and doesn't realise Belle is unaware about their offer for her to join them at Take A Vow. Belle is furious but covers for Tom and pretends he passed on the message.

Later, Belle accuses an angry Tom of lying to Suzy about the job but he manages to calm her down. He is less than impressed when Belle accepts the job, and is fuming when Suzy describes Belle's first client as a 'perfect match' for her. Tom is fuming about her new job - but what lengths will he go to to get control?

The next day, things take a worrying turn as Tom's abuse gets even worse. At Marlon's party, Tom does something unthinkable - but what is it and will Belle's family realise something is wrong before it's too late?

Emmerdale bosses have confirmed Tom will target Belle in a devastating coercive control and physical and mental abuse storyline. Eden Taylor Draper - who plays Belle - explained: "When we first heard from the producers the way the Tom and Belle relationship story was going to go, we were fully aware of the responsibility that would bring.

"But it is an important story to tell. Soaps offer the viewer a glimpse of life behind closed doors and reveal what people present to the world isn't always a truth. The sad reality is that behaviour like this in a relationship is all too prevalent. I hope we do this story justice. And if people are in a situation like this they should definitely get help."
