A proud mum has fiercly called out trolls who think she's not capable of being a parent because of her outfits and lifestyle choices.

Mia Boardman, 27, starred in the UK series Teen Mom, and has since been targeted by cruel trolls who brand her a "bad mum" because of the clothes she decides to wear, and the way she lives her life.

The content creator from Southampton has over 320,000 followers on Instagram, where she's often met with a flurry of hateful comments after sharing snippets of her life.

Mia explained: "I get called a bad mum a lot. I like to wear the clothes I wear which some people say aren't typical 'mum' clothes. And that makes me a bad mum? People have gone as far to message me and say my child should be taken away because of the way I am."

Opening up about the trolls in an interview with The Sun, Mia explained that she receives "nasty comments" every day, especially about the clothes she wears, including "cleavage dresses and low-cut tops". However, she hit back at the haters, adding: "I like wearing that so I'll continue to wear that. I don't think what you wear defines how you are."

Mia gave birth to seven-year-old daughter Marliya when she was 19. She was 18 when she found out she was pregnant, and decided to leave college so she could get a job to earn money for her child. However, as she hadn't been at the job long enough, she had to take statutory pay, which at the time came to £110 per week.

The content creator explained that people judged her for being a young mum, but doesn't listen to their words. She explained that people see being a teen parent as a bad thing because your "life is over now", but that's why Mia has made sure to keep a life outside being a mum.

Marliya visits her dad on weekends, but people still deem her an awful mum because they assume she's "out every weekend" and judge her because she "likes to party". While she does make sacrifices, Mia thinks she "should be able to go out and do what you want as much as you want".

Although she understands older parents have "more life experience and maybe more money" she doesn't think it makes any different to "how good a mum you are". While she doesn't necessarily encourage people to be young mums, she does think Marliya has been the "making" of her.
