Arsenal picked up an important win over Brentford on Saturday to keep the pressure on Premier League title rivals Liverpool and Manchester City.

The Gunners beat Brentford 2-1 at the Emirates, with Kai Havertz scoring a late 86th minute winner after goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale gifted Yoane Wissa a first-half equaliser. The victory saw Arsenal go top of the table on Saturday evening ahead of Liverpool facing City at Anfield.

Mikel Arteta's side will be back in action on Tuesday when they host Porto in a bid to overturn a 1-0 first leg deficit and book their place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League. Here is all the latest news from the Emirates.

Arteta sends title message

Despite yesterday's clash between Liverpool and City having a huge impact on the title race, Arteta was able to enjoy a "relaxed Sunday" as he watched the match.

"I'm so happy that we won the game," Arteta told Sky Sports after the win over Brentford. "You have to win every game with the level of Manchester City and Liverpool. There is no space for slip ups. We really had to respond to the challenge in the second half and show our maturity. We were emotionally really mature.

"The whole game the way the fans reacted and the way they push the team is amazing. It is a joy to be there and enjoy a football match with your supporters. The hardest thing in elite sport is to do it every three days. The willingness amongst the group is really special. I will have a relaxed Sunday."

Moyes makes Rice admission

Declan Rice has been an excellent signing for Arsenal this season and West Ham boss David Moyes believes he should have cost much more than the £105million the Gunners paid for him.

"I always said, and I think everyone laughed, that Dec should have been £150million," Moyes said. "Other players have been sold for close to that price and I don't think they've touched Declan's level of performance.

"The other thing is Declan is English, an England international, and he's 25 now so he's still got another six or seven years of his best years still to come. So I think in time maybe we'll look back and think it could have been more."

Toney latest

Arsenal and Chelsea are interested in making a summer swoop for Brentford striker Ivan Toney, but the Bees will need to slash their asking price.

Brentford have previously valued Toney at around £100m, but he will enter the final year of his contract this summer and both clubs are wary of the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules.

Toney is understood to favour a move to the Emirates, but Arsenal also have other targets in mind including Napoli's Victor Osimhen, Bologna star Joshua Zirkzee, Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres and RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko.
