Hibernian have confirmed Martin Boyle is stable in hospital after suffering a suspected concussion during the Scottish Cup defeat to Rangers on Sunday.
Hibs hosted the Glasgow giants in the quarter-finals at Easter Road, with Boyle starting on the right wing. But the 30-year-old had to be stretchered off just before half-time after falling awkwardly while challenging John Souttar for a high ball.
The match was delayed for 10 minutes while medical staff from both clubs worked to treat the Australian. In a statement released after the game, Hibs confirmed Boyle had been taken straight to hospital and is now stable.
"Hibernian FC can confirm that Martin Boyle is now in a stable condition in hospital. The winger went straight to hospital after the first half collision against Rangers and is receiving the best possible care," the statement read.
"The Club would like to thank the speed of both clubs’ medical departments in attending to Martin on the pitch. Everyone at Hibernian FC wishes Martin a speedy recovery."

Boss Nick Montgomery added that Boyle had landed on his head and had a suspected concussion. Boyle was replaced by Thody Élie Youan, by which time Hibs were already a goal down.
That goal came when John Lundstram was the first to react to bundle home the ball after James Tavernier saw a penalty saved 23 minutes in. Seven minutes from time, Fabio Silva fired in to book Rangers' place in the semi-finals.

But the Hibs boss was still pleased with his team's efforts.
“I’m proud of the boys’ performance. In patches we were good and caused them problems, especially at the beginning of the second half and we were unfortunate not to get back into the game at that point," he said.
"We were lacking that final pass or a bit more composure in the final third. Getting a man reduced hampered us; I haven’t seen the incident, Jordan is on a yellow card, I know he’s tried to block him running down the line, but because I haven’t seen it.
"I can’t really comment. Down to 10 men we created some opportunities and were unfortunate not to score. I’ve got to be careful what I say. I can’t say I’m not frustrated by some decisions on the night.
"I thought it was very unfortunate really, some of the decisions that went against us, against a side with Rangers’ quality. We’ve been talking about unfortunate decision going against us week in, week out, and hopefully that’ll change at some point."
