Jamie Carragher believes the race for the Premier League title could go the distance after Liverpool and Manchester City couldn't be separated at Anfield.
The Reds fought back to secure a 1-1 draw with Pep Guardiola ’s side on Sunday, as John Stones and Alexis Mac Allister exchanged strikes.
The draw leaves Arsenal top of the table, level on points with Liverpool while City are just a point behind. Carragher believes that the narrow margins between the three sides could see the title race go right to the final day.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, the former Liverpool star said: “What a game. The Premier League is fantastic. Both teams should be proud of how they performed, obviously I wanted Liverpool to win it at the end but what these two managers have given us over the last seven, eight years has been outstanding.
“It looks like it’s going to go to the wire alongside Arsenal now!”
Chelsea complete record-breaking Enzo Fernandez transfer after deadline day rushWhile Carragher is expecting the title race to continue thrilling, he believes that City remain the team to beat. He added: “If you’re Arsenal and you were watching today, you’re probably thinking that the best possible result for you is a draw.
“Then if you’re Liverpool and you’re watching Arsenal play Man City in a few weeks time, you’re thinking the same thing so I think from their points of view, they’re still trying to chase down City. They’re still the team to beat.
“They have to find the points to beat them but City’s next four or five games are tough - even though Arsenal are on top, I think Liverpool would still rather see them win over City because I think City’s last five or six games of the season will be ones they get maximum points in.
"If they don’t drop points in the next few weeks, I think they’ll be really tough to stop.”

None of Liverpool, Arsenal or Man City are in league action next weekend due to FA Cup fixtures. The international break then sees domestic action paused ahead of a key showdown between Arsenal and Man City at the Etihad.
Carragher believes that result could be pivotal in deciding the location of the title. He added: “I think if City beat Arsenal, they will be really strong favourites, I really do. I think if Arsenal go there and get something, I think we’ll have the same conversation, it’s up in the air.
“I do feel like Arsenal and Liverpool would need a three or four point gap going into the last sort of five or six games of the season if they are to top City.”
