Anthony Joshua delivered a furious message to 'trash-talking' Tyson Fury following his brutal knockout of Francis Ngannou.

The 2012 Olympic boxing champion took just two rounds to fell Cameroon star Ngannou, who was entering just his second bout in professional boxing as he crossed over from MMA. The 35-year-old Brit dominated from bell to bell in the short fight at the Kingdom Arena in Saudi Arabia.

Joshua was able to knock Ngannou down in each round before delivering a right hand that saw the referee end the contest with the former UFC fighter left on the canvas. Ngannou required medical treatment following the devastating knockout.

Fury was present to watch Joshua's victory at ringside and also took on some broadcast opportunities both before and after the fight. The Gypsy King was only able to narrowly navigate his way past Ngannou in October and is next expected to fight in May to defend his heavyweight championship against Oleksandr Usyk.

In completing these duties, Fury causes offence as he labelled both members of the main event 'sausages'. Joshua judged Fury to be disrespectful and had a blunt message for the boxing champion.

“F**k Tyson Fury,” Joshua told iFL TV. “I don’t like trash-talking people but I heard him say something like, ‘Oh, I’m here to do commentary about these two sausages’, or something like that.

"Bro, that guy that I fought, that he fought, is an ex-UFC heavyweight champion, a phenomenal story, someone who’s changed his life around. He’s just too disrespectful. So forget anything about him right now.”

A clash between Joshua and Fury has been much-anticipated over the years. Despite Joshua making lighter work of his opponent that Fury did months before, the pair may yet still have some time before a fight can be made.

Fury said in Saudi Arabaia that he could be open to the meeting however. Although, it would have to come after two bouts with Usyk.

“There’s quite a long way to go, there’s always been a lot of s*** getting in the way of it,” Fury said. “I’ve got bigger fish to fry, 18 May, then we have a rematch in October. After that, if he’s still available and I’m available, let’s get it on.

“Yes, it goes both ways, he can do what he wants, whoever he fights, he can’t wait a year, inactivity is no good. After I beat Usyk, the IBF will be vacant, so maybe he can fight Hrgovic. I’m healing well, I’m not even in camp yet, I’ll go to camp at the end of March and I’ll spar then.”
