Emmerdale fans were in for a treat on Thursday night as Kerry Wyatt made an explosive return with a fiancé bombshell.
Kerry Wyatt - played by Laura Norton - was back in the Yorkshire village on Thursday as actress Laura, 40, returns to the hit ITV soap after maternity leave. However, in true soap style, Kerry's return was nothing short of dramatic as she was dropped off at the house by PC Swirling.
Her daughter Amy was surprised to see Kerry, who left in 2022 to go and work on a friend's cruise ship, but was even more shocked to see her mum unmistakably dressed as Cher. After the awkward scenes, Kerry was then left to explain how she had been falsely accused of stealing by her fiancé but she promised her daughter that this wasn't the case.
Amy was left utterly stunned, especially over her mum casually announcing she has a fiancé, as she grilled her on the bombshell. Kerry revealed she was engaged to a man called Malcolm after a whirlwind romance but they'd had a huge row and she threw his engagement ring in the sea after he accused her of stealing.
Kerry said Malcolm was so nice at first, showing up to every single one of her Cher impersonation gigs on the cruise and always wanting a selfie. However, after it was pointed out to her that he sounded like a stalker, Kerry admitted: "No, he wasn't a stalker? Oh my God... he was a stalker! He was really nice at first though." Kerry added: "I realised pretty quickly that I'd messed up when I tried to end it, he went mental. He got jealous, that's when he stitched us up for the robbery!"
EastEnders' Jake Wood's snap of son has fans pointing out the pair's likenessAfter a fiery row with Amy, Kerry insisted that all she wants to do is focus on being a good mum to her daughter but later on, the truth was revealed as Kerry removed money and jewellery from her costume. Could we be seeing Malcolm make a debut in the village?
Kerry actress Laura is returning following maternity leave, after welcoming her second child several months ago. Speaking about her return to the soap, actress Laura revealed: "It feels amazing. I think I'm in the third week, and they've eased me back in very gently. I don't know if it was deliberate, but I've had like one day a week, I've done two and now I'm doing three.
"So I feel like they've given me a nice opportunity to sort of settle in and I've had my first couple of days where I'm constantly checking my phone just to see how the kids are and if they've had a nap. I've come home and they're very happy and very well rested and well fed and now I can just be present and do a good job. That's where I'm up to now."
