World Book Day is officially here and to mark the day Amazon is giving shoppers the chance to bag their highly sought after Kindle Unlimited subscription for free for a whole month.

Kindle Unlimited gives readers access to millions of books instantly. You can read the books across any device that has a Kindle app, be that a phone, laptop, tablet or the massively popular Kindle reader.

Kindle Unlimited does let you only take out 20 books at a time, which can be challenging if you've got a long to-be-read list, but it's unlikely you'll be reading 21 books at the exact same point in time. You don't have to worry about losing access to your notes and highlights after you've returned the book - you can take it out at any time and have full access to your notes.

Once you start paying for your subscription, if you're reading often you quickly save money on books. Elsie Silver's Chestnut Springs series would set you back £27.45 for the books on Kindle, but you can borrow them all with Kindle Unlimited and read them for less. If you were to read them all in one month you'd be saving over £15.

There are hundreds of series to dive into, from viral hits to classics you haven't got round to reading. If you finally want to tuck into classics like Charles Dickens, Mary Shelley or Homer it's a great way to tackle them.

When reading on a Kindle, or Kindle app, if you come across a word you're not familiar with you can simply hold it to get a definition up which can make for a more seamless reading experience of books from other time periods or cultures - it will even show you the Wikipedia page and where that character has been seen before in the book.

It's not just books though, you can get your hands on many different magazine subscriptions all included in your one simple Kindle Unlimited subscription, for avid readers it's never been easier to share recommendations and join book clubs that are juggling multiple books. After your first 30 days of free reading the subscription then costs £9.49 a month.

You can read off apps on your phone or other devices but the Kindle devices glare-free screen and catered to reading experience are popular for a reason. If you don't know which Kindle is best for you then take a look at our guide.
