A man managed to bag a 'seat' on a packed train - by lying down in the overheard storage.

The group of football fans each took 10-minute stints in the unusual spot aboard a service to Luton on Saturday afternoon, a passenger said. Pictures show a man in blue jeans and a black top lying in the overheard storage. Graphic designer TJ Jackson, 34, believes the group were fans on the way to watch Luton play Aston Villa at Kenilworth Road.

He said: "The train was packed and they were chanting football [songs]. It was quite funny. It's not something you see every day."

The Aston Villa fans ended up going home happy too after picking up a vital 3-2 win due to Luca Digne's late goal.
