Virgin Media's newest switch-up could transform the way you watch the footy

Calling all footy fans, Virgin Media has just switched up its coverage by adding one popular DAZN channel to its TV packages. Beating Sky Sports to the line-up you'll now be able to tune into DAZN's FAST channel if you have a sport bundle from the provider.

Weeks after it added 100 extra channels to its nifty Virgin Media Stream device, the TV staples will now cover all matches streamed on DAZN's Women's Football. The UEFA Women's Champions League, Liga F, and the Saudi Women's Premier League are just a few pieces of coverage included.

And it won't cost fans an extra penny, as the provider absorbs the usual £9.99 subscription cost leaving you paying £0 to watch the extra live matches. That's if you pick a Virgin Media sports package to kick back, the new addition can be found on channel 554.

The deal makes women's football a lot more accessible for fans, which has only flown in popularity since last year's England vs Spain Women's World Cup final - the match alone reached 14.8m people. Virgin Media say it's changes like adding DAZN streams to its channels which cater to the growing demand.

David Bouchier, Chief TV and Entertainment Officer at Virgin Media O2, said: “The introduction of DAZN’s FAST channel on Virgin TV demonstrates our commitment to enhance our entertainment offering and champion women’s sport.

"Of which we’re proud to be the first Pay TV provider in the UK to offer a FAST channel dedicated to women’s football. From comedy to sport and everything in between, now more than ever there’s something for everyone on Virgin TV.”

Hannah Brown, Co-CEO of Women’s Sport at DAZN, explained how the move will allow more people be a part of growing women's football. She said: “Partnering with Virgin Media is another way DAZN is ensuring that more people watch top-class women’s football on the platform of their choice. DAZN is committed to growing the audience and value of women’s football and is pleased that Virgin has joined us as a premium distribution partner”.

The snazzy new addition be found on the Electronic Programme Guide (EPG) on channel 554 and comes as part of the company’s expanding FAST channel offering, providing an alternative and complimentary experience to traditional linear TV.
