Fearne Cotton has admitted there was a bit of a blunder at her son Rex's 11th birthday as she took to Instagram and revealed her embarrassment.
The mum-of-two, 42, who shares Rex with guitarist Jesse Wood, bought a special cake for her son's big day - however things didn't quite go to plan. Sharing a snap of the Jurassic Park-themed creation for the party, Fearne was mortified when she realised what it had been decorated with.
Captioning a photo of the cake, which was adorned with dinosaurs - and suspiciously-shaped fondant green leaves - she wrote: "It was only HOURS after Rex's party that I noticed giant cannabis leaves all over his cake", followed by a red-faced emoji.
Health-conscious Fearne, who is also mum to daughter, Honey, has built an impressive name for herself as both a TV presenter and a successful author since breaking onto the scene as a Top of the Pops presenter in the early noughties. Her first book, Happy, became a bestseller following its publication in 2017, prompting the launch of her award-winning podcast, Happy Place.
In light of the rave reviews of Happy, Fearne has written another eight self-help books, including a recipe book called Happy Vegan and a parenting one called Yoga Babies. In October 2022, she released her 'Happy Place' app, which helps users to be their healthiest selves by providing guidance on exercise, food, breath work, sleep and meditation
Celebrities share completely unrecognisable childhood pictures for new campaignHowever, she hasn't always been so clean-living. Speaking about how she no longer identifies as the 'party girl' she was during her teens and early adulthood, she told Ideal Home a bit about her life back then.
"I would cram my first flat with as many humans as possible back in the day, music blaring, vodka flowing and very little food," she recalled for the publication in 2022. "In my twenties, I would happily wander off to bed with beer bottles in the sink and even actual humans sleeping on the sofas."
In 2008, Fearne told the Guardian that she drank alcohol once or twice a week, and would be "absolutely p****ed on four or five drinks" if she went out for cocktails with her female friends. She has also admitted to smoking 'socially' in the past, having tried her first cigarette at the age of 18.
These days, Fearne has little time for such vices, saying: "I don’t want to go to a party and talk to people. I’ll have my feet rubbed, thanks very much."
The former Radio 1 DJ and husband Jesse tied the knot in a cute ceremony surrounded by their family and friends in 2014. The couple met in 2011 while Fearne was enjoying a girls trip to Ibiza and the lovebirds immediately became inseparable. They welcomed Rex into the world in 2013 followed by Honey in 2015.
